QRForGen (“we”, “our”) is a free online QR code generator available at qrforgen.com. This page explains what information is and is not collected when you use the site.
1. Your QR codes stay in your browser
QR codes are generated on your own device. The text, links, Wi-Fi details, contact details, logos and images you put into a QR code are not uploaded to our server. Your QR code history is saved only in your own browser (local storage) so you can find it again; you can delete it at any time with the “Clear History” button, or by clearing your browser data. Your theme choice (light or dark) is stored the same way.
2. Anonymous usage statistics
To understand how many people use the site, we collect simple, anonymous statistics on our own server:
- that a visit happened, and which website referred you (if any);
- that a QR code was generated or downloaded, together with its type (for example “link” or “Wi-Fi”), dot style and file format (PNG or SVG) — never the content of the QR code;
- your country (a two-letter country code only), worked out from your connection;
- a short random identifier that exists only while the tab is open (kept in session storage, not a cookie) to count how many people are online at the moment.
We do not store your IP address. To count unique visitors we use a one-way hash that changes every day, so it cannot be used to recognise you from one day to the next. We do not use cookies for these statistics and we do not build profiles of individual visitors.
To find your country, your browser (or our server) may ask a country-lookup service (api.country.is), which receives your IP address for that purpose. We keep only the resulting country code.
3. Suggestions and feedback
If you send a suggestion through the feedback form, the details you type (name, email, message and rating) are delivered to us by email through the form service Web3Forms, and a copy is kept in our private admin dashboard. We use them only to read and respond to your feedback. Please do not include sensitive information in the form.
4. Advertising
QRForGen is free and may show advertisements served by third-party advertising partners, such as Google AdSense. These partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads and measure how they perform, which can include personalised ads based on your visits to this and other websites. We do not give them the content of your QR codes.
- You can manage or turn off personalised advertising from Google at adssettings.google.com.
- You can also opt out of many other advertisers’ personalised ads at aboutads.info/choices.
- Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings.
5. Other third-party services
The site loads some code, icons and fonts from public content delivery networks (such as jsDelivr and cdnjs). Like any website resource, these providers can see your IP address when your browser requests those files.
6. Children
QRForGen is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Your choices
You can use QRForGen without creating an account. You can clear your history and settings in your browser at any time. If you sent us a message and would like it deleted, contact us using the details below.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.
